What is ADRSA-MARINE?

ADRSA (Advanced Digital Risk Solutions Using AI) is a digital platform that helps shipping companies manage safety risk across their fleet — powered by AI.

Assessing the risk of a job on a vessel — say “enclosed space entry” or “chipping and painting on deck” — is normally slow, manual, and depends on whoever fills out the paperwork. ADRSA does it in minutes: it reads a vessel’s documents, understands the job, and uses AI trained on maritime regulations to suggest the hazards, consequences, and safety measures that apply — every suggestion backed by real regulatory sources.

Who uses it

There are three kinds of people in the system. A single company can have many vessels and many team members.

Company

The shipping operator itself. Sets up the account, defines how risk is scored, adds vessels, and manages the team. The “admin headquarters.”

Admin user

A team member with full access. Can create and edit risk assessment reports.

Standard user

A team member with view access. Can read and download reports, but not edit them.

Journey 1 — The company sets itself up

  1. Company onboarding
    A new company registers: name, registration number, email, location, logo, and a primary “Master User” login.
  2. Configure the risk matrix
    The company decides how it measures risk — the matrix size, the severity levels (how bad an outcome is) and likelihood levels (how likely), and the thresholds that split scores into Low / Medium / High. Save a draft, then generate the final matrix.
  3. Final risk matrix review
    A colour-coded grid (green = low, yellow = medium, red = high) showing the risk score for every severity × likelihood combination.
  4. Vessel inventory
    The company adds its vessels. It uploads each vessel’s questionnaire document and the system automatically reads and extracts the vessel’s details. Vessels can be viewed, edited, or removed.
  5. User management
    The company reviews access requests — approve or reject, set someone as Admin or Standard, and activate, deactivate, or delete accounts.

Journey 2 — A team member joins and works

  1. Register
    A new team member signs up, chooses their company from a list, and sets an email + password. The account starts as “Pending.”
  2. Approval
    The company admin approves them and chooses Admin or Standard role.
  3. Log in
    Once approved, they sign in with email + password.
  4. Do the work
    Admin users open Risk Reports, pick a vessel, describe a job, and let the AI generate the job steps → hazards → consequences → mitigations, then refine and save. Standard users can view and download the company’s reports.
  5. Forgot password?
    Self-service reset: enter your email, receive a 4-digit code, verify it, and set a new password.

How the risk score works

Every risk is scored with one simple formula:

Severity × Likelihood = Risk Score
LowMediumHigh

For example, an outcome that is Major (severity 4) and Likely (likelihood 4) scores 16 — the highest, shown in red. Something Minor and Rare scores low, shown in green. Each company decides where the green / yellow / red cut-offs sit — exactly the grid on the “Final Risk Review” screen.

Suggested demo walkthrough

About ten minutes, start to finish.

  1. Onboard a company
    Show the onboarding form — this creates the operator’s HQ account.
  2. Configure the risk matrix
    Pick a 4×4 matrix, set severity/likelihood, generate it, then open Final Risk Review to show the colour grid. “This is how this company defines risk.”
  3. Add a vessel
    Upload a sample vessel document; point out the details were read automatically.
  4. Register a team member
    Sign up as a new user; show the “Pending” state.
  5. Approve them
    Switch to the company view, approve the user and make them an Admin.
  6. Build a risk report
    As the Admin, pick the vessel, type a job like “Enclosed space entry”, run the AI generation, and walk through the sourced hazards, consequences, and mitigations.
  7. Show the Standard-user view
    Log in as a Standard user to show view/download only — no editing. “Access is controlled by role.”

Good to know. Report download/export (PDF) is produced by the app front-end. Password-reset emails need a mail service connected to reach real inboxes. The AI features rely on the Knowledge Base — the regulatory document library the AI reads from — running alongside the app.
